Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the state of Uttarakhand has been suffering from the effects of another tragedy. For the past four days, wildfires have wreaked havoc upon the forest of Uttarakhand has been burning up due to rising temperatures.
Around 5 hectares of forest has burnt in the last 2 days, the lives of millions of animals are at stake. Over 20 incidents of fire have been reported in the span of just four days!
As of now, 46 forest fires have been reported in the state. The forest fire has caused damage to 51.43 hectares of forest and destroyed a major of its wildlife diversity.
People are outraged at the lack of media coverage of these wildfires and have taken to social media to inform the public of this horrifying crisis.
