Indore Traffic Police Sets a Unique Initiative!!!
Ever since the amendment’s on Motor Vehicles Act, 2019, came into force from 1 September, the Road Transport and Highways Ministry of India are charging steep penalties for traffic rule violations across the country. There have been several reports of motorists paying hefty penalties for forgetting to carry documents like driving licence and vehicle-related papers.
Indore Traffic Police is also the verge of coming up with rigorous traffic rule violation penalties. The authorities will be taking strict action under the amendment act. In case of driving without a licence, they will soon get you, a recommendation slip along with a booked slot at the regional office. The corps is planning to set up a system where a motorist would be recommended to obtain the license from RTO.
The ASP of Indore Traffic Police Mr.Mahendra Kumar Jain said that the Indore Traffic Police are in negotiation with RTO to set up an arrangement in which learning licence slots will be booked for people who are caught driving a vehicle without the document. Wherein the violator would be asked to go to RTO for completing the formalities and giving the test.
In order to encourage the people including youngster to obtain a licence, the city plans to hold camps in schools and colleges with the transport department to provide students with an option to apply for a driving licence.
This will reduce the number of violators and improve the transparency in the system leading to better traffic management.
