Today, 29th April sees the loss of a great actor who took the film industry by a storm and has played many thought-provoking roles.
Irrfan Khan, the actor of many widely loved movies like, Life of Pi, Paan Singh Tomar, Lunchbox, passed away at the age of 53. He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai after suffering from colon infection. The news of his death was tweeted by Irrfan’s Piku director Shoojit Sircar. He tweeted, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om Shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”
A while later, a spokesperson of the actor released an official statement that read as “I trust, I have surrendered”; These were the some of the many words that Irrfan expressed in a heartfelt note he wrote in 2018 opening up about his fight with cancer.
