Pakistan tries to mislead the world claiming to polarise and politicise the Kashmir issue at the UNHRC. UNHRC rejects their plea by asking Pakistan to stop terrorism to start talks, India on Friday said that Islamabad was trying to mislead the world. The statement came after the UN Security Council held a rare closed-door meeting to discuss revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. One of the MEA spoke person Raveesh Kumar says that “It is quite audacious on the part of Pakistan that the country which is harbouring terrorists, which is the epicenter of terrorism is pretending to speak on behalf of the global community on human rights.”
UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) says that it J&k internal matter will not accept any interference. Their record of persecution of minorities, both ethnic and religious, doesn’t amplify the credibility of the messenger.
India and Pakistan engaged in a war of words over the Kashmir issue at the UNHRC with New Delhi defending its “sovereign decision” to revoke J&K’s special status, on which Islamabad claims an international investigation by the global rights body.
Pakistan wishes to reiterate this sovereign decision, they urge the UNHRC to look into the situation in Kashmir and urged the world rights body not to remain “indifferent” after India revoked J&K’s special status.
