In a historical moment, SpaceX spacecraft carrying two NASA astronauts, Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken, docked with the International Space Station Sunday morning, 31st May.
The space shuttle launched off from the Kennedy Space Center on Saturday afternoon. This whole ordeal was vlogged by the astronauts.
This mission marked the first time a private company had flown astronauts to orbit which opens up a whole new possibility of space travel.
It was a test flight designed to see how the spacecraft, Endeavour, would perform. So far, it seems the answer is very well, but for this mission to be successful, the astronauts need to come back home safely.
The date for their return hasn’t been decided yet. It could be as few as 5 weeks or a 4 month long ‘endeavour’ aboard the ISS. It depends on when the SpaceX team and NASA officials deem it safe.
